Before You Hire The Ticket Clinic You Need To Read This!

Are you thinking of using the Ticket Clinic in Fort Lauderdale? Well if you are in need of a Fort Lauderdale DUI attorney, you may want to read this article. We know first hand of how they handle their cases and unless you are just in the habit of shelling out dollar after dollar, you had better think twice before hiring them to represent you.
(Update: Make sure you read the comments below. You’ll read some very interesting and somewhat irate comments from one of the lawyers at the Ticket Clinic.)
Actually that is what you should do with any attorney you hire. You need to check them out thoroughly before you hand over your hard earned cash. As for the Ticket Clinic, we have done a bit of research and will continue to do some research to find out if we can recommend this firm to you.
Here’s some of what we have found out thus far. The Ticket Clinic was founded in 1987 by Attorney Mark Gold ( the guy in the video above) and has offices in Miami, North Miami Beach, Hialeah, Plantation, Hollywood, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Port St. Lucie, Boynton Beach, Tampa, and Orlando. So one would say they’re not a small outfit by any means.
But does having multiple locations necessarily mean that your good at what you do or is an indication of a mill firm. A churn’em and burn ‘em type of firm that exists to run as many names as it possibly can through the system to pad the coffers with retainer fees.
Well if you take a look at the “Rip Off Report”, it might cause you some hesitancy in dealing with the Ticket Clinic. However the only reason you’d be reading the Rip Off Report website is if you are a conspiracy theorist anyway.
Seriously, you can find dirt on anyone. But a dozen or so complaints on a firm that has handled thousands of clients over 20 years would not alarm me in the slightest. After all, I am happily married but I’m sure some old girlfriends from college might have some oh so not nice things to say about me.
In other words, when you read crap like the Rip Off Report understand that your dealing with some whack jobs who post on there anyway. If you want to know about the integrity of a law firm you need to check out their ratings with the bar association and speak with some of their clients.
That’s how you get a true representation of things.
So over the next week or so we’re going to give you some information on the Ticket Clinic. Hold your judgment on them for the next week or so and I promise I’ll come back with some substantive information for you to review. We may even seek to get someone with the Ticket Clinic to do an interview with us.
We’ll definitely keep you posted. Check back in a bit for an update on our recommendation on hiring the Ticket Clinic to represent you.

My name is Lawrence Meltzer. I am the lead trial attorney for the Ticket Clinic in Fort Lauderdale. I have read the entry posted on this anonymous website “Before You Hire the Ticket Clinic Read This” and I find the insinuations within it apalling, baseless and untrue.
First, I take great umbridge with the notion that you have referred to The Ticket Clinic as ” churn ‘em and burn ‘em type of law firm” that is in this to pad the coffers. Such an allegation is utterly ridiculous. I will not stand for the insuation that I, or any of our other attorneys, are in this for collecting a fee and do not put our all into litigating every one of our client’s cases. All of our attorneys are as talented as they come. Each is a former prosecutor or public defender with talent and stirling reputations among judges in their given circuit. Unlike many traffic firms, we try and win our cases (even the ones that others believe cannot or should not be won) and do not back down from any judge or prosecutor if we believe we can achieve not guilty verdicts. We treat all of our cases like murder cases and are better versed in the nuances of traffic law than any other firm in the State. As a matter of fact, if I am in a Courtroom and there is a question about traffic law, DUI or DMV issues, the judge calls upon me to assist.
I am a former prosecutor with the Broward County State Attorney’s Office and I rose from County Court prosecutor, through the Felony Trial Unit to Special Sexual Battery prosecutor in less than four years. While at the State Attorney’s offcie I prosecuted everything from “simple” traffic offenses and DUI to Murder. I was (and still am) an aggressive and talented litigator who took over 75 misdemeanor and felony offenses through verdict as a prosecutor. I was hired by the Ticket Clinic and Mark Gold approximately five years ago to become the lead trial attorney for the Firm in Broward County based on my talent and experience. Since then, I have tried 93 DUI trials for The Ticket Clinic in front of a jury and have one 91 of them. That is a 97% acquittal rate, but who’s counting. I have won cases at trial with breath reuslts in excess of .15 g/210L; with crashes; with blood draws; etc. and would challenge anybody to find someone who tries more cases than I do or than our other attorneys do throughout the State. Ted Hollander, a partner with the Firm, has tried 150 DUI trials through verdict over the past 12 years and has won 135. Those numbers do not include the hundreds of other cases where we have achieved lesser charges for our clients or cases where pre-trial motions were granted resulting in a “nolle prosequi” by the State or our thousands of satisfied traffic infraction clients who keep seeking our services.
I have also drafted over 1,700 motions for the firm that are specific to each individual client. There is no such thing and no place for “boiler plate motions” with me or the Ticket Clinic. Our firm believes that what we submit to a judge is what our reputaion is.
The Ticket Clinic has continued to gain national attention for its agressive defense of DUI and criminal offenses as well. Myself and founding partner, Mark Gold, have each appeared live on the Today Show and other national news programs based upon the discovery of a criminal conspiracy by officers to frame an innocent Defendant, Alexandra Torrens-Vilas, for DUI on video and the discovery of photographs of ponzi schemer Scott Rothstein with Fort Lauderdale Chief of Police Adderly at the scene of a traffic crash involving a Rothstein “friend”. Once again, our work resulted in the dismissal of all charges in those cases.
There is a reason that this firm is as successful as it is. We work hard. We work smart. We fight harder than anyone. We take our work seriously and we strive to be better than anyone a defending any traffic or criminal offense. We go the extra mile. That is why we have represented over 1,000,000 people and have grown exponentially since 1987 and why we recently opened offices in Los Angeles, California.
So next time you want to post an article “Before you hire the Ticket Clinic Read This” put the facts in it from someone who knows better than anyone how our firm works and how our clients are treated and defended. Do not spew nonsense. It is truly unfortunate that attorneys who don’t even have the guts put their names on this website and who cannot match the ingenuity of our business model or our legal acumen, must resort to publishing baseless allegations on some blog in an effort to attempt to “cut into” our business.
By the way, I would welcome an interview, on behalf of our firm, at any time. My direct phone number at the officer is (954) 522-5926 x 1480.
Sincerely,
Lawrence Meltzer, Esquire
Hello Mr Meltzer,
I think you have misread the intent of this article. I appreciate your comment as well. We are not in any way disparaging the Ticket Clinic. Far from it, we said in fact that those who posted in the Rip Off Report were actually bad apples. We also went as far as to make sure we did not link to them as we felt there baseless claims may indeed be unfounded.
I don’t think the title of the article casts bad light on your firm whatsoever. I would think that ANYONE who hires an attorney would indeed want to check out a firm and accordingly that is definitely sound advice.
There ar eno insinuations whatsoever. What we said, if you would have calmed down, is that the size of a firm does not necessarily indicate that a firm is a churn and burn them firm. No where in the article does it mention that the Ticket Clinic is that kind of firm.
I ask that you show me where it says that. As a well known attorney who has the accolades that you state, one would know better than to make statements that are not shown to be in existence.
We actually defended you from the inane statements made in the rip off report. Please don’t make us sorry for doing so.
We will get in contact with you for an interview and would be more than happy to provide an open platform for you to discuss the Ticket Clinic to our readership.
However, I received an email from Mark Gold today that made some pretty nasty statements and threats. I choose not to publish that…for now…but please be advised that he may need to direct his attention to those who truly seek to harm the firm (.i.e The Rip Off Report) rather than making idle threats to those who are communicating with the public on matters of opinion.
In any event, thanks for your comment and we will be in touch.
Lastly, and I think that this is very important. We do not seek to “cut into your business”…as you can see there is not a single advertisement herein for legal services. Our purpose is to educate the public.
As you found this site, many others have as well. In the short time of its existence it is already generating significant traffic. You see the public wants information. And it is our mission to provide it.
You are of course welcome to place commentary and we would enjoy your continued visitation and perhaps over time you will come to view us as an asset to help you get your voice out reather than misreading us as a harbinger of doom on your firm.
The choice is yours and I extend an olive branch to continue an open and beneficial dialogue. However if Mr. Gold sees otherwise, it may indeed prove detrimental to your firm’s image…much worse than any innuendo you perceive to be published here.
I look forward to speaking with you and doing an interview with you and highlighting your firm.
Using the Ticket Cinic as we speak,so far so good with my DUI case.My court date is coming soon, and Mr.Meltzer will be my attorney in this matter,I truely hope everything works out well, and he fights as hard as he can.I have no reason to doubt this firm, they have done everything they said they would so far. Michael Walsh
Hi Michael..thanks for the comment. I told Mr. Meltzer that this post was not all bad for him. Good to hear things are going well with your case. I wish you further luck. Let us know how it turns out.
The Ticket Clinic is a sham, and the highly aggressive comments from the company just reinforce this notion.
Their service is horrendous. I submitted a request via their website and 4 days later nobody had bothered to contact me. When I called their office to follow up, I was told by the flustered and unprofessional sounding representative that “the girl who handles internet requests is not in today, so you’ll have to leave her a voicemail.” Nice.
When I provided all my details to this girl, she gave me the low down: I’d have to pay The Ticket Clinic almost $300 to handle my case (two speeding tickets) plus any fines, court costs, and traffic school costs, with no guarantee of a favorable outcome.
I thanked her and hung up, went to the website for the County Clerk’s office, and 10 minutes later I had paid my overdue fines, reinstated my suspended license, and obtained the necessary information to sign up for traffic school.
At best, this firm charges top dollar to do for their clients what they could do for themselves (ie, plead no contest, pay a fine, sign up for traffic school.) At worst, they will leave you hanging, hundreds of dollars poorer with nothing to show for it.
